Tag Notes

Automated tag suggestions for insights, people interactions, and self-reflection entries

Purpose

Scan notes and suggest appropriate tags based on the tag taxonomy. Helps maintain consistent metadata across daily notes.

How to Use

Invoke with /tag-notes [optional-file-path] in Claude Code.

Tag Taxonomy

Self-Insight Tags

  • #insight/pattern - recurring behaviors/tendencies
  • #insight/trigger - what causes emotional reactions
  • #insight/strength - discovered strengths
  • #insight/growth-edge - areas for development
  • #insight/energy - what drains or fuels you
  • #insight/win - accomplishments worth noting
  • #insight/lesson - things learned from experience

People Tags

  • #people/feedback-given - feedback you gave to someone
  • #people/feedback-got - feedback you received
  • #people/praise-given - recognition you gave
  • #people/praise-got - recognition you received
  • #people/conflict - friction or disagreements
  • #people/connection - meaningful interactions
  • #people/idea - ideas someone sparked

Instructions

  1. If user provides a file path, read that file
  2. If no path, read today’s daily note from 100 Periodics/Daily/
  3. Scan the content for:
    • Mentions of people (look for Person links)
    • Descriptions of interactions (feedback, praise, conflicts)
    • Self-reflections about patterns, triggers, energy, wins, lessons
  4. For each taggable item found:
    • Quote the relevant text
    • Suggest the appropriate tag
    • Show how the line would look with the tag added
  5. Ask user which suggestions to apply
  6. Apply approved tags using the Edit tool
